Reach Your Goals - Supercharge Your Motivation!

We're only human, and sometimes we just don't feel like going to the gym. Or sometimes we want to enjoy a pizza and brewski (soda for you youngsters) out with our friends. It's moments like these that we need an extra boost of motivation. Here's how you'll get it...

Move Your Free Day Up

First of all, remember to give yourself at least one full day per week "off" from your workouts and strict diet. These are days that you don't lift, you don't do cardio, and you're free to eat what you please. It's important that you do all of these things guilt free.

Sometimes you'll just have an off day where the motivation is down. Instead of spending the whole day fighting your cravings and feeling sorry for yourself, move your free day up. Enjoy your free day today... then get back on track tomorrow!

Get Inspired

You probably have an idea of what you want to look like. I'm sure you've seen pictures of people online or in magazines who look the way you want to look. Collect these pictures and use them as inspiration. Some of these pictures come with inspirational body transformation stories, all the better.

Go Through the Motions

Sometimes I just don't feel like working out. It might be because I'm extremely tired or that I simply don't feel like training. If you've ever trained with me, you've likely heard me say "the best time to exercise is when you don't want to!"

Here's what you do: Force yourself to go through the motions. This means going through your regular pre-workout routine, like eating a good meal about an hour or two before, putting on your workout clothes, getting your water bottle ready, putting on some tunes... and warming up.

Typically going through these motions will get you in the mood to work out. Once your heart gets pumping and your body starts releasing endorphins, you'll remember why and how much you enjoy lifting. Suddenly you're more than motivated to finish your work out.

Think of this trick as rolling a heavy rock downhill. You have to push it - force it - to get it rolling. Once it gets going, the momentum carries it the rest of way. It's the same for our workouts. We may have to push ourselves to get going, but once we have momentum, it's no problem to continue.

It's easy to eat clean and go to the gym if you design it to be easy:

Keep your house stocked with healthy food.

Keep junk foods out of your body.

Work out at home or at a gym that's nearby. Don't join a gym that's 25 miles away!

That's it for this one. I hope you enjoyed the article. Take action and apply the knowledge.

To your fitness,
